Meet The Chef

A celebrated chef with a heart as full as her kitchen, Ana Gonzalez brings a lifetime of culinary passion to every dish she creates. Born in Colombia, Ana grew up surrounded by the vibrant flavors of her homeland, where Spanish and African influences shaped her deep love for food. When her family moved to Miami, she found herself drawn to the kitchen, helping her mother with a small catering business and learning firsthand the power of food to bring people together.

By sixteen, Ana’s talent and determination earned her a position at the prestigious Alexander Hotel, where she quickly climbed the ranks from prep cook to sous chef. She went on to refine her craft at Johnson & Wales University, earning a scholarship to study pastry arts in Holland under the guidance of world-class chefs. Returning to the U.S., she brought her skills to esteemed kitchens in Miami and Orlando before making her mark at The Peabody Hotel.

In 2007, Ana and her husband, Brian Barrow, relocated to Memphis, where she worked alongside renowned Chef José Gutierrez. Her reputation for culinary excellence led her to the role of Executive Chef at Bleu Restaurant & Lounge at The Westin Memphis Beale Street, where she dazzled diners with her artistry and innovation.

Beyond the restaurant world, Ana’s love for cooking extends into her own venture, Elite Catering, which she founded in 2017. Through Elite, she shares her passion with families, businesses, and special events, crafting unforgettable dining experiences with every meal.

Ana’s extraordinary talent has been recognized on a national stage. She competed on Food Network’s Chopped (Season 35, Episode 14: Weird Twist), where she showcased her creativity under pressure. Her work has also been featured in several publications, including:

Whether she’s crafting a gourmet meal, feeding a room full of guests, or preparing a homemade dish for her family, Ana pours her heart into everything she does—proving that the best food is made with love.
